When 14 year old Jaz is sent from Sydney to live with her Crazy Aunt Agnes in Wakkaville she’s not sure what to make of it. A true city girl from her designer jeans to her personal organiser, Jaz is appalled at the lack of sophistication and phone reception in her new home. Obviously Wakkaville needs updating and plucky Jaz thinks she’s just the one to do it.
Jaz’s passion for journalism often leads her and her new friends on adventures. Jaz is a political and social activist always looking for a cause to write about on her blog. It’s just that the cause she most often promotes is herself. She’s a fast talker and her runaway mouth can land her in a heap of trouble with her new friends when she tries to prove that the city is better than the country. At times Jaz can be insensitive and arrogant but her heart is good. She has a genuine desire to report the big truth. It’s just that she often fails to see the small truth staring her in the face.
